This weekend was....awesome.
Mike & I both ran in the Wounded Warrior Project 10k race in Helena on Saturday morning. We've been training for this for a while (10k = 6.2 miles...so you have to be somewhat prepared), but despite our efforts (and lack of nice weather) our training did not go as well as we'd hoped and we ended up skipping a few of the longer weekend runs. Anyway, my goal was to run the entire time, and to do it in about 62 minutes (10:00 minute mile pace). Mike promised he would stay with me, and he did, until the very end when the finish was in sight. Then he sprinted ahead. Just couldn't let his wife win. :) However, we finished one right after the other with times of 58:17 and 58:58. Yeah! I was so proud of us!

| Starting the day on a high note! |
The weather in Helena was beautiful, so we decided to explore a little. After flipping through our trusty "Food Lovers Guide to Montana" book, we figured out a few places we wanted to visit, and had just a great day. We grabbed coffee (amazing, by the way...my latte was called 'Heaven in a cup'...white chocolate & caramel...heaven in a cup indeed!), went to a local bakery for some of their Scottish Oat and Sourdough bread, found a local tea/botanical store and got some goodies, found a wine store and grabbed a few bottles, visited a used bookstore, and came home with more books to add to our respective "To Read" piles. Awesome day, beautiful drive, wonderful weather (50's and sunny!), did well on the race, LOVE it!
Yesterday there was also a race in Great Falls. However, the weather was much different. We woke up to snowflakes the size of quarters flurrying down. Yuck! I planned to run in the the 3-mile race with some friends, and as race time approached, the snow was still coming down. Luckily, right before we were supposed to begin, the snow relented and it was actually a pretty good run. My friend Devon & I stuck with each other, and we finished with a time of 27:45. Not too bad!
