I might be on to something here...
Tuesday afternoon:
2:00 pm: Snow begins to fall in Great Falls. Crockett doesn't know what to make of it.
4:00 pm: Snow has accumulated somewhat significantly.
4:30 pm: Sarah excitedly calls Mike at work, asking him to please swing by the BX on his way home from work to purchase a shovel. (Probably something we should have already bought. Lesson learned.) Crockett is not enjoying himself.
5:00 pm: Mike arrives home with no shovel. (The BX ran out. I guess everyone else on base is as neglectful of a shovel as us.) Snow still coming down. Sarah is still excited. Crockett lays by the door with his eyes closed, as if he can cause the snow to disappear by thinking hard enough.
A few minutes later: Mike and Sarah get on Zappos and order some snow boots. (Again, something we probably should have taken care of a lot sooner.) Mike walks to Rebecca's house, and shovels her driveway as payment for letting us borrow their shovels. Sarah completes the Zappos transaction. (Side note: the boots are already on their way! LOVE LOVE LOVE Zappos!) Crockett wants to go out very badly, but when he remembers that there is cold white stuff on the ground, he decides that he can hold it.
5:30 pm: Mike and Sarah work together to clear their driveway, and also clear the neighbor's driveway. Snow is still falling. Following, Mike plays with Crockett in the snow-covered backyard. Crockett gets the hang of it.
9:45 pm: The driveway needs more shoveling, so as to make clearing the driveway easier for the following day. Mike and Sarah shovel. Crockett watches. Snow is still falling.
Wednesday:
9:00 am: Mike and Sarah shovel their driveway, then walk to Rebecca's house to shovel her driveway.
10:00 am: Shoveling complete, however, snow is still falling.
3:00 pm: Snow has stopped, and no more shoveling is required. Sarah googles: "calories burned shoveling snow." Sarah wishes that it would snow more, because her research shows that in an estimated 90 minutes of shoveling, she burned 600 calories.
3:15 pm: Sarah is hungry from all the shoveling, so rewards herself with a cookie.
